R I K A
During her junior year at high school, Sarika Kumar started a small business known as RIKABIRD LLC highlighting her interests in art, product and graphic design. The company began as a tattoo design for a friend earlier that summer, and then morphed into a side project where she began selling stickers on the site known as Redbubble.
Six months later, she founded her own small business now known as Rikabird LLC. Since the tattoo design drawn almost two years ago, she has expanded into a variety of other sticker designs that now sell at 15+ retail stores in Oregon. The stickers, centered around a Pacific Northwest vibe, feature mountains, trees, and even the recent solar eclipse of 2017.
She also worked at HP Inc for two summers — once through the ASE program and once as a contract employee, doing product design and data analysis work. When she isn’t running around doing business, art and school related activities, you can often find her enjoying a good cup of coffee, playing tennis, or exploring the great Pacific Northwest. Currently, she is the Head Graphic Designer for the global youth run non-profit organization called PERIOD, whose mission statement is to celebrate periods and provide menstrual products to those in ned.
Sarika is currently a freshman, attending the University of California Davis for Aerospace Science and Engineering. She can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org or through her site, www.rikabirdcreative.com.
~ A personal note from the founder ~
"Today, people have begun to recognize me in our small town as the girl who makes the stickers. The feeling I get when somebody says they’re “honored” to meet me is indescribable. I am humbled and blessed to have the opportunity to grow the relationships I have with the people I meet through my designs. Thank you!
PS. I always take sticker/pin ideas so feel free to drop comments on the Follow page or shoot me an email!"
